Pupal protein-viscose filament is regenerated protein core-sheath compound filament. The viscose is its core, and the pupal protein is its sheath. In this kind of filaments, the pupal protein on the surface has the function of health care, and the mechanical property of viscose is good. The fabric made of this material, has good style and hygroscopicity. Many kinds of fabrics can be made of this filament. Pupal protein-viscose filament is widely used and is suitable for knitting and quick-weaving machine. Besides mixed with polyurethane fiber, pupal protein-viscose filament can be mixed with cotton, wool, silk, polyester, nylon and so on. It is the great material used for producing underwear, night-suit, summer fashion, T-shirt and home textile. The development of pupal protein-viscose filament makes pupa available, so it is significant for the whole society.The parameter of knitting is relevant to the properties of the filament, such as strength, elasticity, friction and bending regidity, so the filament must be tested before knitting. The results of the test can guide theknitting. The strength of pupal protein-viscose filament is low. It has good elasticity and little frictional coefficient. Its surface is slippy and its bending regidity is high. The parameters of knitting can be determined according to above properties. Compared with pupal protein-viscose filament fabric, the appearance, dimensional stability and wrinkle resistance of pupal protein-viscose filament and polyurethane fiber mixed knitting fabric are obviously improved.The scouring and bleaching of pupal protein-viscose filament and polyurethane fiber mixed knitting fabric is one of important factors which influence on dying and handling. According to the properties of the fabric, we use Na2S2O4 for the bleaching. At first, the each factor that may affect the scouring and bleaching is tested. After the main factors such as the concentration of Na2CO3 and Na2S2O4, scouring temperature as well as time are determined and the same time the orthogonal experiment is designed. Fabric whiteness, bursting strength, height of wick and loss of weight are tested as evaluation of scouring and bleaching effect. By the statistical calculation, the proper scouring and bleaching condition is defined. After scouring and bleaching, the fabric becomes white. Its wick ability and handling become better.After scouring and dying, the wearing characteristics of pupal protein-viscose filament and polyurethane fiber mixed knitting fabric are tested. Besides relevant to strength of pupal protein-viscose filament,fabric density and fabric structure, fabric bursting strength is relevant to concentration of chemical, scouring temperature and time. We analyses the relationship between fabric bursting strength and factors in scouring. After scouring and dying, fabric bending regidity and strength decrease, and fabric handling is soft. In this paper, the fabric drapability, moisture and air permeability of pupal protein- viscose filament and polyurethane fiber mixed knitting fabric is excellent, and can be obviously improved after scouring and dying.
