UV ink has been widely used because of its advantages of high printing quality, fast curing speed, environment friendly and so on. UV ink is composed of UVmonomer,prepolymer,photo-initiator,pigment and auxiliary. UV monomer not onlyhas the effects of wetting pigment, diluting and adjusting viscosity of ink, decidingthe characters of solidification and curing speed., but also dominating curing character. The printability of ink has close relation to rheological properties and colorrecurrence。UV monomer is the main factor that affects rheological properties andcolor recurrence of ink. The paper uses a series of common acrylate monomers, develops UV silk-screen printing ink of four color .In this study,we uses ink samples of 44 kinds to test experiment . By testing thepigment particle distribution and flocculated structure size of pigment, we discussesthe dispersibility of UV ink. By testing the color density and tristimulus values of UVink, we discusses the color properties. By testing the steady and dynamic experiments,we discusses the rheological properties of UV ink.We have the experimental results as followings: Firstly, 90% pigment distribution size of most ink samples is lower than 25 μmand most of flocculated structure size of pigment is lower than 40 μm, which fulfillthe ink printing needs.Secondly, the ink of different monomer has different color density ,differenttristimulus value and different color distinction. The functionality and the structure ofmonomer molecule affect color space of UV ink .The lower functionality, the biggercolor space. The lower steric effect of monomer molecule, the bigger color space ofink. The color space of ink samples is mainly different at yellow and magentaoverprinting space.Lastly, all ink samples have the typical non-Newtonian behavior ,thixotropy, overshoot and dynamic viscoelasticity . Tridimentional structure and serger structureof monomer molecule affect the dispersibility of pigment particle, and also affect therheological properties of UV ink.The research results of the paper will provide high quality and good printabilityof UV ink with some reference significance.
