Roll forming is one of the most widely used processes in the world for forming metals. The complex processes contain many aspects such as geometry, kinematics and dynamics ,etc. The shaping processes involve not only transverse bending ,but also other additional deformations. AS a result of lacking of theories , the roll design based on experience ,and its technology accomplish by test and error. In design, it isn't assured whether the material flow is reasonable or not ,and whether the roll is accurate or not.The advanced high-strength steels(AHSS) are the newer types of steels. Owing to its mechanical properties which is different from low-strength steels and the conventional high-strength steels, the existing roll forming technologies are hard to accomplish the regular products.MSC.Marc is used to simulate and analysis the roll forming process of Advanced High Strengthen Steel. The simulation results indicate the bug of the roll design. After the optimized design is used to practice, regular products are produced.Forming limit diagrams are used to analysis the forming limit parameter (FLP) in the model. The contour band of displacement and the stress are used to analysis the property of the defect of shape of the products.Setting up a roll forming model with the same forming sequence, two different materials DP800 and Q235 have been applied to the model in order to compare their spring-back angles and deformation energy. The conclusions of the study indicate that, with the increase of forming angle, compared with Q235, the spring-back angles of DP800 has a marked difference, and the deformation energy of DP800 is increased obviously.Spring-back of simulation is contrasted with calculation of BISWAS equation. The results indicate that, BISWAS equation can not be directly used to calculate the spring-back of AHSS. The changed yield stress S should be considered, a new calculation method should be developed.
