Manufacture civilization provided people with more products and better life, and exercised more and more influence on environment at the same time as well as. How to protect the environment while economy was developed, how to harmonize economic development with environmental protection so that the strategy of sustainable development can be implemented, which have already become the most important things for subsistence and development of people.Based on the input and output data of economic system, Material Flow Analysis(MFA) analysis the status of material flow process of the whole system and establish accounts of material input and output. Environmental pressure indexes based on MFA indicator system was by way of measurable index of sustainable development degree.This paper adopted current popular Material Flow Analysis internationally, based on the method of Eurostat guidelines, some MFA accounts for investigated cement factories were established, such as Direct Material Input Account, Total Material Requirement Account etc. Furthermore, we compared and analysis the environmental pressure indexes of among the investigated cement factories according to the environmental loading index derived from MFA account. Meanwhile, because the MFA couldn't show the concrete environmental damages, it could only measure the environmental pressure from a macroscopic view. In this paper, we made some improvement for the method of MFA, combined material flow with environmental impact, through classifying, specifying and integrating environmental impact, finally obtained a single environmental pressure index—Environmental Stress. This index can be used to measure the relation of environmental pressure and capacity of Nature System. Environmental stress index reflects environmental pressure caused by the cement factory scientifically. It could compare among different factories in landscape orientation by environmental stress index conveniently as well as. Moreover, the method proposed in this paper can be a reference for the quantification study of the sustainable development of the cement factory.
