This research has developed the light weight modified fly ash — clay ceremsites with nanometer material, with high coarseness, high specific surface area and plenty of micro-pore, using waste materials-fly ash in preparation it to aim at transform waste into preciousness and combat pollution with pollution. Then it has been applied in Anaerobic biofilter (AF), being water treatment filler. The experiments results show that the AF system to treat with moderate-thick and low-thick waster water circulate steadily and the affect is favorable. The preparation experiment about modified fly ash—clay ceremsites with nanometer material has displayed that the appending of fly ash has greatly enhanced specific surface area and coarse surface of ceramiste, minished its density optimized its performance, and reduce its cost. The research of the light weight modified ceramsite using waste materials-fly ash and clay as main materials. It points out the optimal ratio of additives is clay 35percent,fly ash 53percent,sodium silicate 5 percent,CaCO3 two percent, C two percent, DT-5 two percent, γ-Al2O3 one percent. The measuration of physical & chemical performance of modified fly ash—clay ceremsites with nanometer material shows that its specific surface area is 10.626 m2/g , great by 158.54% percent than that of homemade ceramics (4.11 m2/g), and that it is of light density , excellent resistance to acid & alkali, long span. The SEM photos of MCN reveal that it is of coarse surface, high hole & gap ratio, large adhering organism. indicate that this kind of ceramsites fits to be the carriers in Anaerobic Biofilter (AF).The application experiments demonstrate that modified fly ash — clay ceremsites with nanometer material is of excellent film-forming performance. The AF system filled with the ceramsites forms film completely in 8 days. They show that the appropriate parameter is COD 1963(mg/L), HRT24(h), the removal rate reach 82.7%, hydraulic load 1.62kgCOD/ m3-d.If the AF system treat waste water without ceremsites, when the appropriate parameter is COD 1956(mg/L), HRT24(h), the removal rate only reach 33.8%, hydraulic load 0.66kgCOD/ m3.d.The kinetics experiments demonstrated that the COD degradation velocity was first-grade reaction to its concentration. A experimental velocity equation to the AF system filled with the ceramsites wasrcoD=------r2-= 0.\467CCOD(mg/L-h) ,and to the AF system without theatceramsites was rC0D =------^2. 0.0189CCOD(mgIL-h).It has displayed velocity ofdtthe former is 9.2 times that of the latter. The mechanism velocity equation(Monod equation) U =---------------- =-------------------— (g/m -d)deduced fromKs + (S-Sn) 7864.24 + (S-&) 5the basic research on microorganism physiologies.
