The Developing And Evaluation Of The PostScript Printing Control Strip

With the developing of information technology, the digitalization of print industry is increasing. Prepress production has been mostly digitalized because of the invention and developing of typesetter technology, computer to plate technic has digitalized platemaking process too, the appearance of digital press makes digitalization possible in printing process. For their characteristics, the traditional control strip can't be used in digital platemaking and printing, therefore, we should design PostScript printing control strip as a way to control quality during production.On the basic of studying the principles and design ideas of existed controlstrips, the paper summarized and analyzed them, and selected the key elements suitable for controlling production quality, then worked out control strip for platemaking and printing quality control. At the same time, the paper analyzed the characteristic of page description language, especially PostScript language, and programmed every element by using PostScript language, exported PS or EPS file after united the whole programs. The main task of the PostScript printing control strip is to control the solid density dot gain print contrast tone reproduction ink trapping grey balances slurs ghostings resolution.
