In this thesis, the present condition of safety management has been investigatedand the theories related to safety system science. A safety management informationsystem is designed and developed, to solve such problems with safety management aslack of safety information, blocked delivering paths of information, delayed feedbackof information, etc. The main research areas are as follows:1. This system is based on the theories of safety management and informationmanagement system, with Visual FoxPro as the major development language. Thedesign involves the SMIS framework (data flow chart) and the diagram of the modulestructure of the system.2. Design of the system: based on the requirements of the research subject and thepresent condition and problems of the enterprise safety management informationsystem, the total framework design is carried out. The whole SMIS consists of fourmajor parts, namely, the data system, the evaluation system, prediction system, andthe decision-making system.3. This thesis focuses on the study of the data system. The data system is mainlymade up of five management modules: the potential dangers management, theaccidents and causalities management, safety education management, laborprotections management, and the human body's biological clock management, withthe potential dangers management discussed and studied in detail. This system better solves the problems with safety management in mostenterprises ― lack of safety information, blocked delivering paths of information, delayed feedback of information, delayed processing of risk information, etc., so it isvery significant in practice for the enterprises in safety management.
