Researches by several great authoritative textile institutes show that functional materials have occupied a large share in the market and intending fabric for clothing will be developed toward comfort & health, economy and functionality. Moisture Absorption and Sweat Volatility Filament and Light Fabric, whose function and some other relative functional textiles will become a big trend in the market in the future, is one of the most important performance items.Up to now, fiber and fabric of moisture absorption and sweat volatility is in the state of out-of-order development and lack of united programming and management in domestic land, so it is essential for us to set up scientific method & united standard and attestation. As a result, establishing a set of scientific and complete testing methods has great social effect and economic effect.The mainly studied objects include 1 # Coolbst , 2 # Ordinary Polyester Filament, 3#Topcool, 4 # Micro Filament, 5#Coolmax, 6# Topcool > 7 # Coolplus ^ 8 # Cooldry and 9 # ~ 11 # Ordinary Polyester Filament. By studying on fundamental properties and water transmission and dry ability of polyester fabric including woven and knitting fabric, we can discover the difference between shaped filament fabric and ordinary filament fabric.We take emphases on the water transmission and dry ability of the polyester fabric, obtain a lot of data from the experiments including wicking, drop spread and dry ability test and deal with the original data in this thesis.Making use of Matlab procedure, we establish linear regression equation between fiber fineness & fiber quantity and indexes of water transmission before hydrophilic finish. But water transmission after hydrophilic finish has close relation with the quantity of hydrophilic group, so the linear regression equation is not distinct.Through the analysis, products of moisture absorption and sweat volatility must have two basic terms: one is that the surface of polyester fiber has micro groove;the other is that among the molecule structure of fiber has hydrophilic group.Because shaped fiber has especial cross section, water transmission of the polyester fabric made of shaped fiber is better than ordinary polyester fabric's, but dry ability has not definite law between shaped polyester fabric and ordinary polyester fabric. We gain the difference ofmoisture absorption from the fabrics made of Coolbst, Topcool, Coolmax,Cooiplus, Cooldry and micro filament, so it can provide theoreticalfoundations for comparing various products of moisture absorption andsweat volatility in the market.Supervised by Dr. Longdi Cheng...
