As Karl Marx has said, "Labor productivity develops along with the progress of science and technology." In the information age people have realized that information will be more important labor source than materials and energy. In this information society, the highly informationalized, digitized and cyberized life has constructed the non-material society characterized by knowledge economy, and has brought a deep social innovation in China and conceptual violation to Chinese people. The development of society and the progress of science have endowed the consumer demand with the characteristics of time.The digital technology in 21st century has brought world-shaking innovations to human life. Among these, the appearance of modern computer games excites so many people. Whether favored or not, it is an unarguable fact that computer game has surpassed all the art forms and become a recreation with largest participators. The traditional art world refused the computer games as an art, which is the same attitude they held to the movies. However, just the movies then, the computer games have popularized rapidly with their unique method. Although some artists express their contempt, many engineers, screenwriters, photographers and artists have joined in this youthful and ever-progressing team. The computer games have transformed from the earliest animation form to the form of movie visuals, which is the recurrence of history of the combination of newsreel and drama a century age. This is an implicative phenomenon. If the interaction of newsreel and drama created the world-wide fashionable form of plastic movie, I believe that the combination of computer game and movie is forming the artistic style of the digital movie. The realistic visuals in the game can be divided and recombined unfailingly, just like a movie featured in the inter-transmission technology. This art form,combined with the web, is becoming a main-stream of the 21st century, challenging the sovereign status of movie and TV. The German philosopher Adornos once said, "What makes the application of technology in the art reasonable is the authenticity the great traditional work drew from the quality of technological development and delicate production. From Andrea Palladio on, artists sometimes show sensitivity to technological procedure, and this tendency will continue till the technology thoroughly break up the traditional methods." If the development from films, TV to computer games and the digital movie is a process of breaking up the traditional ways with technological traits;then what authenticity has traditional art drawn from the technological traits? This thesis, through research on visual arts and analysis on cinematographic skills in game design, will take the visual and sound effect in the games as a breakthrough to probe into the effect of artful use of screen and video skills in game design, from the aspects of visual and auditive perceptions. To research the subject of art form from this viewpoint will contribute greatly to the innovation of the design concepts and methods, thus making the design conception more humanized.
