Electrochemical micro-machining (EMM) developed from electrochemical machining is an important developing direction of the future modern machining. It appears to be very promising as a future micro-machining technique, since in many areas of applications it offers several advantages. This paper analyzes the principle and the characteristic of EMM, highlights the influence of various predominant factors of EMM such as the controllable material removal, the machining accuracy, the design and development of micro tool, the reaction of inter-electrode gap and the electrolyte, etc.Design and fix a us -grade adjustable pulsed power supply controlled by an AT89C51 single chip. Research and analyze the working principles of the pulse occurred circuit, power supply main circuit and protecting circuit of the us-grade adjustable pulsed power supply. Compile the working programmer of the single chip. Deeply research the all kinds of the modules of the functions and select the parameters of the working parts. The power supply has the characteristics of the adjustable frequency and the ratio of time-off and time-on, easy adjustment. The requirements of EMM can be satisfied very well and the power supply has a good practice effect.Analyze the relations of the pulsed frequency with machining voltage and machining gap. Design and fabricate the cathode tool and the anode clamping tool. Carry the experimentation of ECM by using the DJK3150 numerical controlling ECM machine tool. Manufacture the complicated micro channel. Demonstrate the power supply is practical and reliable.
