With great development in these years, ion chromatography (IC) has been a practical chromatography technology. Especially in the last decade, with recent development in electrolytic devices, reagent free IC technology, the application of IC has been become more widely, and more easily. In the chapter one, the general response equation for conductivity detection, recent developments in electrolytic devices for ion chromatography and determination of phosphorus species by IC were described in detail. In the second section, a new kind of extraction technology-Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) was discussed and used. Polyphosphates, a kind of food additives in meat, and phytic acid in plant were extracted by ASE, and then determined by IC. What's more, the extraction rates were compared with other common extraction methods. In the section, analytical methods to determine some uncommon phosphorus species in different samples were also proposed. A method for the simultaneous determination of organic acids, organic anions and inorganic anions in the sample of commercial toothpaste was studied. Chromatography conditions for some phosphonic acids and ibandronate determination were also studied. Optimized analytical conditions were further validated in terms of accuracy, precision and total uncertainty and the results showed the reliability of the IC methods.
