Petrochemical industry is the mainstay of our national economy and it is one of the most contaminative industries. There are some materials that are poisonous or easily to burn and blast during the process of production. As petrochemical industry developing into high temperature, high pressure and great scale, the problem of safety manufacture becomes more important. Therefore, it is more important to develop risk assessment on key equipments in petrochemical industry, because it can protect people' s life and property, strengthen the management of safe and environment protecting resource, and guarantee safely manufacturing and steadily developing of industry.This thesis takes the twenty-thousand-ton sulphur recovery device as the research object, and the aim is to build one risk assessment system. In the thesis, firstly we analyze the craft process of the device and expatiate the safety faults in key equipments of every subsystem which maybe to appear. We introduce basic content of safety check form that is improved graded standards and classical dow' s fire and explosion index V7. 0. And then, we make application research integrates with the twenty-thousand-ton sulphur recovery device, set up items database of safety check items and faults database and measures database. It provides useful references for setting up repository of risk assessment system in other petrochemical key equipments.In addition, according to the consumer' s practical demand and normal request of software, it expatiates about the analysis, modeling and design of the system, of course, including the realization of a B/S mode risk assessment system. This system hangstogether daily check plan of the equipment, and finishs the equipment risk assessment in the process of implementing safety check. The risk assessment system is stepped up to the layer of management. Moreover, it realizes the innovation of applications. At last, the research is summarized, and the future further research is prospected in this thesis. In the same time something is pointed out that needs to be improved and perfected .
