Large variety profile noncircular part refers to a kind of non-circular part with complicated cross section and abundant spectrums, whose section radius changes largely. These kinds of non-circular parts are usually key parts on some devices. They are used widely especially in military fields, which are very important in improving the performance of the weapon equipment. Because of this, Research of Noncircular Turning Processing (NCTP) is becoming more and more concerned.The thesis aims at providing some ideas and analyses method for research of NCTP. Firstly, the basic demands of the servo system is provided in this dissertation by analyzing the time and frequency character of the non-circle part's profile sector data; and then three different schemes of manufacture methods for the different non-circular parts which have different profile sector character are put forward and compared. Then, base on piston ring, a typical noncircular part, which CNC scheme based on linear motion platform is designed. After finishing its mechanical structure design, the machine parts are selected. By using finite element method (FEM) and by simulating the dynamic and static frequency, the reasons of vibration are clear and then the servo structure is optimized. After discussing and simulating dynamic models of the servo structure, the electronic board to be interface with the machine tool and the corresponding control software are designed. Through machining experiment and error analysis, some improved advisements are provided. Finally, the summary of NCTP is made and some expectations are given.
