Solid-State Heat-Capacity Laser which has been developed in recent years is a new generation laser with bright application. In this paper, we provided a working material of neodymium-doped gadolinium gallium garnet (Nd: GGG) crystal for Solid-State Heat-Capacity Laser.The working principle of Solid-State Heat-Capacity Laser was analyzed; Nd: GGG polycrystalline material was prepared by solid-phase and liquid-phase method; Nd: GGG crystal was grown by Czochralski method; The effects which were caused by technological parameter (temperature gradient, pulling rate, speed of rotation, cooling speed and growth atmosphere) of crystal integrity were studied, then the best technological parameter was determined; The crystal cracking and defect were studied too. At last we prepared high quality single crystal.The absorption spectrum, fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence lifetime were measured after the Nd:GGG single crystal was cut and polished, the main absorption peak of Nd:GGG crystal was 808nm,and fluorescence-emission peak was 1062nm, which correspond to 4F3/2-4I11/3 emission band of Nd3+ ions. At the same time, absorption intensity became stronger with the increasing of Nd3+ ions concentration. It is useful for improving the pump efficiency.
