Along with the advent of pump source-InGaAs LD and the demands for laser diode pumped solid-state lasers towards high efficiency, high-power, miniature and integration, Nd:GGG crystal is reserchful hotspot because of excellent spectra and laser performance. In this thesis, the high-pure materials synthesis of Nd:GGG were obtained by the way of solid phase reaction. Nd:GGG crystals with different Nd3+ doping concentrations were successfully grown by the Czochralski method. The optimal growth parameters were found, and the growth atmosphere and the annealed conditions were studied. The crystal defects were studied by optical method and chemical etching method. The spectrum characteristics of Nd:GGG crystal were measured and analyzed. The relative spectrum parameters were calculated by Judd-Ofelt spectrum analysis theory, and the reason of "visible fluorescence" phenomenon was explored. The theory on Heat Capacity was analyzed systematically. Using 808nm LD pumped the 3mm × 3mm × 2mm Nd:GGG thin disk, in the condition of 900 mW pumping power, we obtained the output power of 305mW at 1.06μm, with the optical-optical and slope-efficiency of 33.8% and 57.8%, respectively. The threshold value of the pumping is 380 mW.
