With the exploitation of the oilfield, the water flood of oil formation was more and more worse. In order to control the water of oil formation, the depth profile modification of high water oil formation is a viable method. Aim at this instance, the alkali clay complex depth profile modification was developed. It was shown thought the experiment that the different of mineral compose of the alkali clay and common clay causes the performance different. The clay content of alkali clay is 6%. The completeness swelling time in the fresh water is about 30min. The completeness swelling time in the polymer solution is about 100min. It was shown thought the laser analysis that the diameter of alkali clay grain is about 420μm~0.24μm and the content that the diameter is smaller than 74μm is about 67.7%. For the suspended solution of different clay content, the more of clay content the bigger of sedimentation rate at the same time. The clay sedimentation velocity in the fresh water is faster than that in the polymer solution. At the same condition, the sedimentation rate of common clay is bigger than that of alkali clay.With the research of alkali clay character, the basic prescription of the alkali clay complex depth profile modification was determined. According to the geology condition of Daqing Oilfield, the waiting crosslinking gel was prepared. At the condition that the pH value is 7~9 and the temperature is 50℃, the gel viscosity is bigger than 3×104mPa·s and it has better heat stability.Using the man made corn, the corn block-up efficiency of the alkali clay complex depth profile modification was determined. The section of the alkali clay has greater influence to the corn block-up efficiency. With the research of alkali clay character, the basic prescription of the alkali clay complex depth profile modification was determined. According to the geology condition of Daqing Oilfield, the waiting crosslinking gel was prepared.
