Four new Schiff base ligands which were derived from aspartate -o -vanillin(K2HL1),aspartate-salicylaldehyde(K2HL2),aspartate-acetylacetone(K2L3),5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzophenone-o-phenylenediamine-o-vanillin(HL4)have been synthesized, and twelve coordination compounds of lanthanide nitrates or transition metal with these ligands have been synthesized. All these complexes are reported first by author. These ligands and complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, UV spectra, TG-DTG and molar conductance analysis. A new spectrofluorimetric method for the determination of trace amount of Cu(Ⅱ) has been developed. This method is based on the fluorescence quenching of 5-chloro-2-hydroxybe nzophenone-o-phenylen ediamine - salicylaldehyde due to the formation of Cu(Ⅱ) complex. The compositions of the Ln(Ⅲ) complexes with potassium salt of aspartic acid-o-vanillin(K2HL1)were confirmed to be K2[LnHL1(NO3)3]·4H2O (Ln=La,Dy), K2[GdHL1(NO3)3(H2O)]·3H2OThe compositions of the Ln(Ⅲ) complexes with potassium salt of aspartic acid-salicylaldehyde (K2HL2) were confirmed to be K2[LnHL2(NO3)3]·3H2O(Ln=La,Dy); K2[GdHL2(NO3)3(H2O)]·2H2OThe compositions of the Ln(Ⅲ) complex and transition metal complex with potassium salt of aspartic acid-acetylacetone (K2L3) were confirmed to be K[CuL3(CH3COO)(C3H3N2)]; K[DyL3(NO3)2(CH3OH)]The compositions of the metal complexes of with unsymmetrical Schiff base ligand from 1,2-diaminobenzene were confirmed to be [ML4]·nCH3OH (M=Zn,n=1;M=Co,n=2; M=Ni,n=0;M=Cu,n=1)The synthesis of ligands and complexes was in non-aqueous solvents. All of the complexes were stable and could be preserved in the air for a long time. The complexes were colored and powered substances. The properties of the Ln(Ⅲ)...
