Laurocapramum is a new type of transdeernal penetrating agent, it has distinct osmosis to hydrophile lipophile compound, and it is typical delegate of transdeernal penetrating agent. Its outstanding excellence are doughty permeability , less toxicity and irritant to skin. Compare with other transdermatica , it has prodigious surface activity and strong osmosis. They will be studied well as one of hot spots for transdermatica.In this paper, Laurocapramum was synthesized though tow-step reactions of bromination and N-unialkylation, ethylediamine and caprolactam as starting materials. The reaction mechanism was discussed. The effects of various conditions to the reaction were optimized by unifactor and multifactor orthogonal experiment. Under the optimum reaction condition that potassium hydroxide was added in batches, and the preparation of was carried out at 3.5 hour reaction time and 90 temperature, the yield reached 97% in the catalysis of solid-liquid Phase; Under the optimum reaction condition that the reaction time was 3.5 hour and the temperature was 80℃, the yield of Laurocapramum was 94.3% in the catalysis of fluorinate kalium impregnated on alumina supporter; Under the optimum reaction condition that the reaction time was 4.5 hour and the temperature was 85 ℃, the yield of Laurocapramum was 90% in catalysis of potassium hydroxide impregnated on alumina supporter. The structures of products were characterized by IR, 'H-NMR and MS. In addition, some physical and chemical properties of Laurocapramum such as boiloff enthalpy, boiling point ang permeability, were determined and proved to be good.
