The whole design of laser ignition system with single optical fiber is researched in the paper. The emphasis of study is concentrated on performance of system. The below conclusions can be drawn by minimizing the laser, designing and optimizing the laser igniter, researching the performance of laser, igniter and the couple of fibers.1) The minimized laser with stable output of optical power can meet the demands of ignition system. It and its controller conform to the requirements that the technology of space and weapon system claims on performance of space initiating device. 2) The convex lens couplers are used to connect the laser and fiber. The optical fiber is connected directly by fiber connector. The two way of couple is sufficient for the requirement of ignition system. 3) The delay of ignition is no more than 11 ms when the optic window is adopted. The output energy of laser igniter is comparatively stable and its structure can keep integrity after igniting. The adaptability to environment is enough for GJB. 4) Although the general performance of system has conformed to the standard of space initiating device, the igniting property of amorce B/KNO3 and the coherence of different product needs to be researched unceasingly.
