| Now the e-enterprise has become a new concept that is developing very rapidly. Being an important industrial branch, coal enterprises widely adopted computers and Internet technique. More and more software systems are introduced to the mining industry, but most of them are simply designed either with structure of thin clients, or with rich clients. These two structures both have their advantages as well as defects. When Internet is baffled or offline, no proper services can be provided on the old systems. The application of Smart Client makes proper services possible no matter the client is online or offline. While online, an even richer experience can be provided by Smart Client. Even when it is offline, Smart Client is still run exceptionally well. The technique of Smart Client has been gradually introduced to the coal industry, it brings clients much more efficient way for their daily management, especially in some departments with decision-making power. As a new technology, the Smart Client becomes the general trend of information exchange for enterprises, and is now been introduced to the Safety Information System of Coal Industry.Smart Client is a new application of client. It combines all strong points of Thin Client and Rich Client, thus improving the management of data and link while enjoying a satisfied work no matter online or offline. This thesis describes the development of Smart Client and its advantages. The correlation technology, including data processing, true presentation layer structure, and technology of addressing offline data; then is combined with practical applications to the mine safety. Data exchange is conducted, and, on the basis of the design principle and servicing method, the .NET Framework of Smart Client updates itself through application of .NET Application Updater assembly. Furthermore, the offline function can be achieved through designing Offline Application Block subsystem. |
