As the most commonly heat source in the field of metal material surface engineering, plasma arc has unique merits, such as high temperature, steady arc fan, concentrative heat quantity, high heat transfer efficiency and heat efficiency and so on. Plasma metal surface modification technology has obvious advantage in metal materials modification technologies.Based on traditional plasma powder welding and plasma spraying equipments, the multi-purpose metal surface modification equipment was designed. The equipment is controlled through programmable controller, and could be used in plasma spraying, plasma powder welding, plasma quenching, and plasma cladding. Plasma powder welding and plasma non-diluted cladding technology were studied, and the groundwork were laid for future research on the application of plasma arc in rubber machine. The sprayed self-fluxing alloy powder and metal matrix surface were melted by plasma arc; molten alloy powder and slightly molten metal matrix were melted together, so that the low-diluted plasma powder welding coating was formed. Take the transferred arc as main heat source, non-transferred arc as assistant heat source of multi-purpose plasma arc metal surface modification equipment, the influence of technological parameters (such as transferred current, non-transferred current, powder sending quantity, powder sending gas flux and so on) on the structure, thickness, and dilution of plasma powder welding coating were studied. The optimum technological parameters were gained though the analyses of the shaped, the microstructure and the...
