With the development of automatic technology in underground, more requirements are increased to improve the continuity, reliability and security of underground control system of local fans. It is hence very important in theory and practice to develop the integrated control system in underground heading faces. The main object in this thesis is to solve the problems of applying the intelligent control technology to integrated control system in underground heading faces. Combined with the research of protective technology and intelligent control technology in power system, the control techniques and protective methods in the integrated control system in underground heading faces are proposed. By testing and running in laboratory, it has been shown that the control methods in the system are right, valid and practicable. The main studying aspects are the followings:1. The characteristics of underground local fan and the actual significance to develop the project are analyzed, and the developing histories of the integrated control system and intelligent control technology are reviewed. In addition, the new and control strategies applied in the control system are put forward.2. According to the motor protection and starting characteristics of squirrel-cage motor, the characteristics of the electrical faults occurred in the system are theoretically analyzed, and relevant protective principles and control strategies are proposed on the basis of national relative standards. The difficult problem of phase-sensitive protection has been resolved.3. A new type of intelligent control system controlled by the microcomputer AT89C52 has been designed, which performs the functions of not only four types of control methods and phase-sensitive protection, voltage protection, current protection , gas lock aimed at underground LV networks, but also liquid crystal display, RS-485 serial communication.
