The research on the composition and structure of coal has been one of the most important and complex issues in coal science. Because of the complexity of coal itself and the limiting of researchful methods, the achievements in this field are not satisfactory. Furthermore, Shenhua coal that is a kind of low rank coal is a sort of non-coking coal. Due to be short of coking coal, Shenhua is put to use in the process of coal blending produce. Be based on researching the composition and structure of Shenhua, its coking behavior is probed into ulteriorly. Therefore, in this paper the structure characters of Shenhua and its coking behavior blended with coking coals have been studied emphatically by different means. The analysis is put forward so as to get an overall comprehension on the coal and its macerals (vitrinite and inertinite) structure and the coking behavior of Shenhua coal.Firstly, one typical coal of Shenhua and its macerals are prepared. The characters and the relevant data of the selected samples are studied by means of the conventional coal properties analysis, the advanced instrumental methods(such as FTIR, XRD, 13C-NMR).The difference of the samples on the structure is discussed. Average molecule structure models of the macerals have been drawn out, in according to colligating the data of instrumental analysis. And then be based on the points above, the pyrolysis characteristics of the three samples are researched by employing TGA analysis. Ultimately in the coal blending test, the different proportion of Shenhua coal must be affect the coking property of different degree of coalification of coal and coke strength. At the same time, the contrast Shenhua coal and gas coal has been studied. In the low proportion, Shenhua may replace gas coal in the process of coal blending produce. Otherwise, the proper fineness of Shenhua has been discussed and around 90 percent of the fineness (<3mm) is the best. At this time every component of blended coal is mixed uniformly. The particles of coal are filling up each other among their clearance. So the well-proportioned structure of coke can be obtained. The fineness research offers the theoretic support to the auxiliary breaking of Shenhua coal in the produce.
