The vanadium polyoxometalate organic-inorganic hybrid materials have attracted widespread attention because of their intriguing structural diversity, excellent physical properties and potential applications. Six crystals of polyoxometalates are prepared by means of middle hydrothermal technique, molecular design and self-assembly, and characterized structurally by single crystal X–ray diffraction. The factors that affect the experiment such as reaction temperature, the ratio of the reactants, the pH, solvent and the reaction time value, solvent and the reaction time were determined. The structures of these compounds have been further characterized by IR, thermogravimetric analysis and fluorescence spectroscope analysis. In this paper, there are three main parts:1. The recent development of synthesis, component, structural characterization and application of organic-inorganic hybrid materials of the vanadium polyoxometalate are reviewed in this paper.2. Four two-dimensional structure and two clusters structure crystals are synthesized. Complex(1) have two-dimensional framework that consists of a framework of corner-sharing VO5 polyhedra and PO4 tetrahedra. In the complex (2), each V(1)O6 octahedron shares corners with one PO4 tetrahedron to form the infinite one-dimensional linear chain structure along c axis. And the neighboring one-dimensional chains, are linked together in the corner sharing manner through adjacent V(2)O5 tetragonal pyramids, giving rise to the formation of two-dimensional layers parallel to the ac-plane. The channels which are comprised of four vanadium cores and three phosphorus cores are 7-membered. Free diprotonated piperazines are located in these channels. Complex(3) consists of two vanadiums, two 2,2-bipyridine and one HPO4 tetrahedron. Complex(4) is a cluster. The basic building unit [VPMo12O42] is essentially built on the well-knownα-keggin structure. The building unit is linked by distorted 4,4′-bipyridine to form 2D layer. Such two layers are further stacked to form a novel 3D supramolecular framework. Complex(5) is also a cluster. The basic building unit [PMo12O40] is linked by piperazines via hydrogen-bond. Complex(6) is constructed from [VO5] square pyramids sharing edges and corners.3. The factors that affect the experiment such as reaction temperature, the ratio of the reactants, the pH value, solvent and the reaction time value, solvent and the reaction time are determined.
