With rapid development of modern manufacturing industry, renewal of product quickens its steps, requirements of mould increases greatly, however, the delivery cycle of mould continually decreases, the market demands that mold enterprises establish a brand new working mode in order to meet the requirements of competition in the global market. In the light of strategy alliances of mold enterprises and internet collaborative design, through the factual demand of modern mould enterprises participating in international competition and the characteristics of mould developing process, a local mould enterprise strategic alliance model based on long-term and steady cooperation is proposed, and the total structure and work website for a local mould enterprises strategic alliance is conceived. Using the method of software engineering, the system structure of mould collaborative development platform based on strategic alliance is designed. And the modeling of mould collaborative development platform is done by using UML technology. Utilizing distributed database, the database of collaborative design is set up and the structure of database is optimized. The function realization of the collaborative development platform is studied and developed by making use of J2EE groupware technology and JDBC technology.During the developing process of collaborative development platform, according to mould producing order form, using the method of project management, the whole mould producing process is managed and monitored. Utilizing the NetMeeting tool, the collaborative design and modification under the internet surrounding is realized. Integrating AutoVue control by using ActiveX technology, the collaborative viewing and mark-up of the mould design drawing and manufacturing process in the internet circumstances is achieved. Using group technology, the injection mold and its parts are classified according to the function and structure, and the mould materials query module for collaborative design based on internet is created, and the 3D standard component library for mould based on SolidWorks is developed. Utilizing PDM technology, the mold product data management module is set up, and the sharing for all-around informationization management during the mould producing process and the resource, technology and information in the enterprises alliance is implement. The user purview management module is based using the control method based on the role. At last, according to the example of a telephone shell mould, the process and method of applying mould collaborative development platform to design the mould is presented.
