Along with the information advancement of the mold enterprise as well as the mold development specialization, it is difficult for single mold enterprise to have all of the advantages both in technology and the equipment. Therefore, it is necessary for single mold enterprise which has different advantages to cooperate with each other, to set up a project-centered virtual enterprise with a strong mold development capability, and to meet the requirement of the market for mold quality, price and development cycle. In order to facilitate the collaboration between different mold enterprises, and enable each link of the mold coordination development to carry on smoothly, we should study the mold coordination development mechanism thoroughly, and on this basis, build a collaborative design platform for mold manufacturing, which provides the technical support for the mold virtual enterprise's operation.In this paper, the mold virtual enterprise's model has been established firstly, then the modelling analysis and the abstract description have been made from the following facets such as the function, information, resources, and organization, which construct a basic theory framework for formation, operation and management of the mold virtual enterprise. Afterwards, through the systematic analysis on the mold collaborative development process, the cooperative working mechanism of mold development has been discussed in depth. Thus the elaborate resolution on theory has been mainly given from the following facets: the formation of the mold virtual enterprise, the formulation of the collaborative production plan, collaborative development project management, coordination and consultation in the collaborative process, and cooperation member's benefit assignment.Through the thorough analysis carried on the core process of the mold collaborative production, such as mold collaborative quotation, collaborative design and collaborative manufacturing, a mold production pattern based on the collaborative work platform under the distribution network environment has been proposed. At the same time, we have developed a corresponding functional module in the collaborative design platform for mold manufacturing, and provided a platform supporting the mold collaborative production pattern's operation.On the basis of the above theory foundation, system design and the functional analysis of the platform have been made in this thesis, then we use Google Sites, combining with workflow management technology, develop collaborative design platform for mold manufacturing. The successful operation of the platform has confirmed the feasibility of the mold collaborative development pattern which is based on the collaboration platform.To sum up, on one hand, the mold collaborative development pattern which has been explored in the thesis, has provided a theory reference for the way of mold enterprise's operation transformation; on the other hand, the collaborative working platform which has been developed provides a powerful technical support for the practical application of the mold's collaborative development pattern.
