Since the Acticated Sludge Model was brought forward by International Water Quality Association in 1980s, as a new tool in the design and research of wastewater treatment technology and in the operation of the wastewater treatment,this model has been extensively applied in the operation of wastewater treatment plants and in the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus through traditional activated sludge treatment technology. However, researches on this subject can be rarely seen in China. This thesis aims to build an accurate and practical Acticated Sludge Model to guide the practice in this field. Mathematical model could be a convenient assitant tool in wastewater treatment plants through completely simulating the operation of acticated sludge technology.For the purpose, a lot of contents which include model platform selection, model set up, model calibration, model validation and model application are involved in the research.Taking SBR technology in the city wastewater treatment as an example, this thesis uses mathematical model to analyze 30 dynamical parameters of activated sludge 2D model and their impact on the wastewater characterization. Several dynamical parameters are explored ,such as YH,μH,KS,KH,μA,KP, KPP,KPHA.On this basis, practical wastewater measuration data are acquried and the model is validated by those data. The model can accurately simulate the SBR technology in wastewater treatment plants.This thesis finds that ASM2D model is the most convenient one to be applied in wastewater treatment plants through the comparison with other models of ASM.Finally, this research simulates SBR and its amended technology macroscopically. In this process, the construction suffeiently exerts its potential and improvs its hadling ability.Thus, the operation cost is reduced. Meanwhile, some phenomena are got which are similar to the factual conditions in the process of simulating the amended technology of SBR.This also validates the applicability of the mathematical model.
