The research trend of landfill leachate in groundwater system at home and abroad was summarized, and the generation, dangerousness, and influence factors of leachate were systematically analyzed in this paper. Based on the theories of fluid mechanics, solute transfer and soil-water dynamics in porous medium, the dynamic characteristic of leachate transportation process were studied. The mathematical model of leachate transmission in soil-water environment had been developed, which consists of groundwater flow equation and contaminant transport equation. The one-dimensional analytic solution and the two-dimensional numerical solution by finite difference method were given. The concentration distribution of leachate pollution in landfill was quantitatively analyzed and its tendency was presented.The results of mathematical model showed that the leachate pollution regions were consistently expanded with the time elapsed, and were more obvious in the early stage. At the beginning (early 20 days), the concentration increased rapidly, and then the rising velocity became stable. The leachate treatment chiefly consisted of outputs and characteristics. Based on reduced the outputs, the characteristics of leachate should be homogenized. Then the thought of leachate treatment and the controlling system were given. The results of this paper can provide theoretical evidence and technical supply for design and management of leachate controlling system in landfill.
