China is the country that the coal resources are very abundant. the majority of the thermal power plant take coal as their basic fuel of electric power production, and its by-products of fly ash are piled up in the open air. Fly ash contains large amounts of heavy metals and radioactive elements, which will pollute the groundwater. This study area is The ash-storage yard for coal-fired power plants and the ash wastewater is the sewage produced mainly by rainwater leaching. By analysizing, the main pollutant is fluoride. In this paper,we choose the third grid ash-storage yard of forth stage of xing tai power company, which is on northern shore of shahe in the Xingtai city of Hebei. The first step is preliminary investigation of groundwater in the study area environment, and Second is field investigation, exploration, monitoring, sampling, analysizing and analysizing the test data on the surrounding groundwater. Lastly, according to the data,establishing mathematical model of groundwater flow and solute transport to predict the groundwater environmental pollution: ash field under the condition of no seepage control settings, leakage occurred after eight years, unconfined aquifer fluoride will arrive at the downstream Donghucun township, nearest to the ash field.
