Automobile manufacturing is important industry to scale integrated level of national manufacturing, and its roboticized level reflects national industrial level.Aiming at the problem of automatic welding in the front axle which exists in automobile industry of China, the status quo of welding automobile in China and other countries is analyzed in this paper. Then the important function of auto welding robot on the front axle is expounded on the development of the Chinese automobile industrial roboticized manufacturing. This thesis studies emphatically the choice of weld style of the arc welding robot and process variable of welding, framework and control means of welding robot workstation's turning worktable by which turning worktable can turn exact, and the design of welding positioner. In the design of welding positioner it is included: exact position-change of welding positioner, locating correctly and clamping reliably of special welding jig, control technology and method which are beneficial to harmony action between welding positioner and robot, and so on.
