Cellulose is a kind of innoxious natural polymer material with abundant natural resources, high polymerization degree, good molecule orientation and chemical stability. It is distinguished from many synthetic polymers by the excellent biological compatibility and biological degradation property. Through chemical reactions with the active hydroxyl groups in its molecules, a series of modified polymers can be prepared, which can be widely used in the fields of oil recovery, construction, coating, polymerization, food, medicine, cosmetic and so on.In this paper, Cellulose sulfates were derived from linter cellulose and microcrystalline cellulose soaked with DMF by sulfation with DMF-ClSO3H. By macromolecule reaction, the hydrophobic monomers such as glycidyl octyl dimethylammonium chloride, glycidyl dodecyl dimethylammonium chloride, and glycidyl tetradecyl dimethylammonium chloride were empolyed to the hydrophobic modification of sodium cellulose sulfate (SCS). The amphoteric polymeric surfactants based on cellulose were prepared. The overall results as following:1. Linter cellulose and microcrystalline cellulose was employed as raw materials, reacted with DMF-ClSO3H under 0-5℃, Two kinds of cellulose sulfate were obtained. The degrees of substitution of sodium cellulose sulfate were 0.87 and 0.76 by ICP analysis; The bond of S=O in sodium cellulose sulfate was detected by FT-IR spectrum. And the substitution of reaction took place in C-6 by NMR. These together proved the successful synthesis of cellulose-based polymeric surfactants. By X-ray and SEM measurements, the crystal structure and shape of cellulose were destroyed. The glass transition temperature was about 100℃by DSC measurements.2. The hydrophobic monomers such as glycidyl octyl dimethylammonium chloride, glycidyl dodecyl dimethylammonium chloride, glycidyl tetradecyl dimethylammonium chloride was applied to the hydrophobic modification of two kinds of sodium cellulose sulfate (SCS) in isopropyl alcohol under 65℃.The success of synthesis of a kind of novel amphoteric surfactant by FT-IR and NMR.3. By the measuring surface tension of all kinds of amphoteric polymeric surfactants based on cellulose, the critic micelle concentration was obtained such as 0.4wt%,0.3wt%,0.25wt% and corresponding surface tension was about 30mN/m,...
