In acidizing treatment, the thickener can act on delaying acid/rock reaction and reducing friction drag by playing down transmission speed of H+ and fluid filtration. The demand to acidizing thickener is becoming higher and higher, but the operation of thickener is restricted because at present most products put up some disadvantage i.e. characteristic of shearing resistance and thickening is not good, the period of make-up is long.In this study, according to the investigation for the kind and performance of acidizing thicker, we decide to adopt reverse emulsion polymerization to synthesize the acidizing thicker. Materials include acrylamide monomer and other monomers with temperature tolerance and salt resistancy. The product is milk white, of which molecular weight is 6~9 million and effective material weight percent is 30%.The performance tests of acidizing thicker TP-1 show that the solvability of TP-1 is good and its dissolved time in acid is under 10 min. The viscosity of (4%TP-1+20%HCl) is over 80mPa.s under 30℃and over 40 mPa.s under 90℃. TP-1 has good compatibility with acidizing retardant and iron control agent.TP-1 has better viscofiering behavior than many other acidizing thicker and is easy to be dissolved in water and acid and is influenced little by shearing. In conclusion TP-1 is a perfect acidizing thicker.
