Ethylene Oxide and Ethylene Glycol are very important raw materials mostly used for producing antifreeze in petrochemical industry, and the demand for them gradually increases along with the development of automobile manufacturing. The silver catalyst reactor is one of the most important chemical equipments for producing the Ethylene Oxide and Ethylene Glycol in which the silver catalyst needs to be replaced regularly. At present the domestic unloading method is through manual operation which has the inefficient and incomplete prominent disadvantage that seriously restricts the Ethylene Oxide and Ethylene Glycol production level, so it's extremely significant for us to find out a highly effective silver catalyst unloading method in order to enhance the Ethylene Oxide and Ethylene Glycol productivity.Therefore, this paper has designed three sets of silver catalyst unloading methods among which the one that uses vacuum suction and high-pressure gas blow is taken based on analysis and appraisal. At first input the high-pressure gas into the reaction tube though the high-pressured gas pipe. Under the impact of the high-pressured air current, the particulate solids of silver catalyst are loosened and blown up in the reaction tube. At the same time fix the vacuum suction equipment on the top of the reaction tube. When the equipment begins its work, there will be a pressure gap in the reaction tube. In such a circumstance, the air in the reaction tube flows, which provides the transporting power to unload the silver catalyst from the reaction tube and transported to the reclaimed equipment through the duct. Then the whole silvers catalysts unloading process is completed.After choosing the unloading method, this paper first studies the physical property of the silver catalyst according to the pneumatic conveying theory, and then the resistance and suspension speed of the silver catalyst, through which this paper obtains the performance parameter of the high-pressure gas pump to be used in the silver catalyst unloading system. The paper also studies the potential pressure loss in the silver catalyst unloading system, and works out the shaping parameter of the vacuum suction equipment.
