FEM(Finite Element Analysis) is a fast and good efficient design tool in modern engineering analysis and design .The application of Finite Element analysis and structure optimum etc CAE technology is significant in shortening the period of production development , reducing the cost of the manufacture and improving the enterprise competitive ability. XK713 NC Milling Machine is research object . The main parts which made up XK713 NC Milling Machine are researched in this paper with general finite analysis software ANSYS.A three-dimensional finite element of the spindle box, polar of the NC Milling Machine and the whole Milling Machine have been established which based on accuracy model to made an analysis of static force of and display the stress and displacement ditribution in three dimension;Made a modal analysis of the spindle box and the milling machine,s body with FEM and get their inherent frequencies and mode shapes.then made a dynamic characteristics analysis for these two structures in this paper. The result shows that, the milling machine can fairly fit its strength, the matiarial contribution of the spindle box and polar of the NC Milling Machine is unreasonable, and the body of the machine must be improved in the dynamic characteristics. The result can be applied for the theoretical basement in the structural optimal design and dynamic modification. With the combination of FEM and optimum design .The optimum design for spindle box is used for reducing the structure's wight, then improve the structure in order to made it keep the good dynamic characteristics, and get the reasonable result with these mixal optimum design.Based on parameters sensibility,s analysis the structure modify for the milling machine,s body is used for improve dynamic characteristics.
