By analyzing the development history of food fresh-keeping technologies and the application status of vacuum technology in the storage and processing of food storage, it is proposed that the vacuum technology can be further used at home for food fresh-keeping. The economical and practical microscopic home vacuum fresh-keeping equipment has been developed after comparing several conceptual design layout and lab experiments.After generally analyzing the structures, the intensity, the displacement, the cost, the feasibility of manufacturing, a more practical model aims at general multi-purpose optimization was advanced. According to the simulation, structure optimization and the request of the system, a structure model of vacuum box was designed. The stress and displacement of the vacuum box was obtained using the ANSYS code. Based on those work, the original geometries of a vacuum chamber is optimized based on the results of finite element analyses. The process mentioned above will be repeated till an ideal design is achieved. Moreover, the two-dimension and three-dimension drawing of the vacuum chamber is given. The whole developing procedure can be used for similar system design.One of the key parts of the developing vacuum equipment is the vacuum pump. By the programmed software, the main parameters of the pump for the system ware decided. One type of vacuum pump was selected for the fresh-keeping system after comparing the performance of three kinds of vacuum pumps made in different factories through theory calculating and laboratory testing. The rules for pump selection can by used in vacuum equipment design.According to the function and working process and in consideration of human-machine interface, the operation interface was advanced. Then the electrical control layout for the system was analyzed at two aspects, namely, a relay control system and an on chip control system, the electrical board of PCB was burned and the complete control program was accomplished. The relay control was laid out for its high cost. The developed chip PCB has already put in small amount production.It is pointed out in this paper that the microscopic home vacuum fresh-keeping system has a wide market in home application. The method used in the system design can be used for similar system development. Although, the vacuum fresh-keeping concept has existed for more than 20years now in our country, however, no real market product has been put in commercial successfully. By the work done here in the paper, in 1-2 years, the home used fresh-keeping appliance will be used in our daily life.
