Numeric-normal lathe CK61100 is alteration that is based on ordinary lathe, whose way of control of principal axis is changed to frequency conversion. The new lathe adds a servomechanism, simplifies mechanical transmission chain. This alteration make the processing precision improve remarkably, amenity swell, manipulation accord to human-machine mutual manner, which is order to satisfy the require of modern technics to lathe. Based on the alteration, we carry kinematics and dynamics simulation, analyze and optimize the new lathe from theory, in order that the lathe can get superior dynamics behavior, better machining accuracy and processing efficiency.In the course of overall progress of the subject, this paper has a deep research on kinematics and dynamics characteristics of the drive system and holistic lathe.1. On the basis of analyzing the dynamic performance of machine tools, we introduce the Riccati transfer matrix and virtual prototype technology. The systematic scheme of such a simulation system is also studied.2. A dynamics model of the drive system on the Riccati transfer matrix is set up, and corresponding mathematics model is set up too. Through the numerical simulation of computer, some relevant information of its intrinsic characteristics on torsion vibration , and analysis is given to them. A dangerous mode in torsion vibration is confirmed through a calculation of flexible degree of modality, then the weak links of the system are confirmed though a calculation of the distributing rate of energy under the dangerous mode of the system.3 .The nonlinear characteristics of friction in mechanical system are analyzed. And then different friction models are compared. According to the characteristics of friction in servo-drive systems, an effective friction model is developed referring to the Karnopp model.4 On the basis of the characteristic analysis of the analysis of the two engineering software PRO/E and ADAMS, and CAD model and an ADAMS simulation model are designed to be integrated through MECHANISM/Pro. Then a lathe simulation system is developed in the ADAMS/View environment.
