Ferulic acid is a phenolic acid existed in the vegetable kingdom, and has played an important role in medicinal area, such as antibacterial and antiphlogistic, antithrombosis, easing pain, dropping blood pressure, resisting ultraviolet, antioxidation, antimutation and resisting free radical. Simultaneously it also has been used in food, cosmetic and other fields, widely. Rice hull is a byproduct in the processing rice, and it is used as feed and fertilizer, mainly, so it is hardly put up more efficiency processed and recycled. This is not only wasting precious resource, but also polluting environment. Microwave-assisted extraction method is a new technique made use of extracting availability component from savageness. Its characteristics consist in simple equipment, applied widely, high extraction efficiency, well repeated, save time, save reagent and little pollution, so that has expansive developing foreground. It does not appear in literature that microwave-assisted extraction method of extracting ferulic acid from rice hull was researched in the paper ever. Therefore, it has important actual meaning and some economy and society benefits. The technology is introduced the microwave-assisted extracting ferulic acid from rice hull, and craft of uniting about microwave cell disruption and extraction by paddling in which the cell wall rice hull is broken by microwave radiation, and then ferulic acid is extracted by means of solvent. The optimal condition and main effect factors, such as microwave power, action time, and during microwave assisted extraction, extracting solvent, water bath temperature, water bath time, circumfluence time, pH and so on, were investigated by Uniformity Design method. The results showed that it is better at the conditions:325W microwave power, 2 min action time, adding water 100ml by microwave, 1% lye concentration, 2.5h water bath time, 60℃water bath temperature. FeCl3-K3Fe(CN)6 solution, thin layer chromatography, and ultraviolet spectrophotometer method were used to qualitative and quantitative analysis the product. Comparing with standard sample, trans ferulic acid was confirmed. According as thermal analysis technique, the analysis condition of trans ferulic acid is determined by DSC-60, in which heating rate is 10℃·min-1, nitrogen rate is 20ml·min-1, weigh certain sample, and then the DSC curve is exact. The melting heat, and the decomposition temperature of trans ferulic acid is 150.00J·g-1, and 190℃, respectively, in nitrogen condition by DTA-TGA curve and DSC curve. The standard combustion enthalpy of trans ferulic acid is determined by XRY-1C calorimeter, which is -4737.6 kJ·mol-1 at 298.15K. The reliability of instrument is standard by naphthalene, and value of naphthalene is well fit the literature value because the relative error is 0.11%. It is illuminated that the instrument and the method of determining combustion enthalpy are reliable by calorimeter. And the standard formation enthalpy of trans ferulic acid is calculated to be -626.65 kJ·mol-1, the basic data is furnished for the exploiting new synthesis method, engineering design and industrialized production on trans ferulic acid.Solubility measurement equipment with laser monitoring system is used in which the speed of increasing temperature and the equilibrium point of solubility data can be controlled fast and accurately. The equipment is dependable because solubility data of obtaining benzoic acid in water are consistent with those of literature. Various temperatures dissolving method is used to measure the solubility data of trans ferulic acid in water and organic solvents, such as methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, dichloromethane and chloroform in the temperature range 273.15 K - 333.15 K. There are 8 binary systems and the 126 group solubility data for which ? don't appear in literature. The experience equation In x =A + B/T + C ln T is adopted to relate these solubility data, the relative error is 0.19% between calculate data and experiment data. It is illuminated that the experience equation can indicate the relationship between temperature and concentration when the binary systems are the solid and liquid equilibrium.
