SuKe GanMao Tablets were made up of Caulis Lonicerae, Flos Chrysanthemi Indici, Rhizoma Belamcandae, acetylsalicylic acid, chlorphenamine maleate and vitamin C. they can be used to clear away heat, toxic material, dispel wind and alleviate pain. They take effect in the treatment of febris, cephalalgia, nasal obstruction and discharge resulting from rheum and upper respiratory infection. Angelica sinensis (oliv) that belongs to umbelliferae is herbaceous plant, and its storage root is a kind of usual traditional Chinese medicinal materials with long history. It has been used as a natural medicine in the regulatory effect of enriching blood and promoting blood flow, regulating menstruation, resolving pain for a long time. high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods were developed for the determination of chlorogenic acid and acetylsalicylic acid in SuKe GanMao Tablets and ferulic acid in Angelica sinensis. The thesis contained two parts as following:Part one: Determination of chlorogenic acid and acetylsalicylic acid in SuKe GanMao Tablets.Firstly, the recent advances of Caulis Lonicerae and acetylsalicylic acid were reviewed, and a HPLC method was developed for the determination of chlorogenic acid in SuKe GanMao Tablets. Secondly, several methods, such as HPLC, fluorescence Spectrometry and UV-spectrophotometry were used to determine the concentration of acetylsalicylic acid in SuKe GanMao tablets. Our data indicated that fluorescence Spectrometry is the best method for the determination of acetylsalicylic acid in tablets.Part two: Determination of ferulic acid in Angelica sinensis with microwave extraction (MWE) followed by HPLC.The chemical active components, pharmacological effects, and clinical application of Angelica sinensis (oliv) were introduced. The method of ferulic acid analysis in Angelica sinensis (oliv) was established with MWE-HPLC. The effects of MWE parameters were investigated for improvement of extraction efficiency. Our data showed that MWE were the best extraction method for the sample preparation of ferulic acid in Chinese herbal medicine...
