Research On Automatic Programming System Of Numerical Control Cutting Plotter Based On Digital Image

Numerical control(NC) cutting plotter is a kind of automatic cutting device, which synthesizes the technology of computer science and digital control. Now, only several factories can produce the NC cutting plotter in our country. However, the number of factories or scientific research institutions which research on NC cutting plotter CAD/CAM is even smaller.In this paper, digital image technology is applied in the system software of NC cutting plotter, so the system can deal with huge image and translate it into NC code which the cutting plotter can identify. And this method improves the programming efficiency. The VC++ 6.0 is adopted to develop software which obtains powerful function, friendly user interface, easy operation and good stability. It can be widely used in the areas of clothes making, shoe making, packaging and engineering drawing.The current technology of automatic programming system at home and abroad is studied. This paper proposes a scheme developing automatic programming system of cutting plotter, and introduces the main content and the key technology of the system.The flow of image pretreatment, which includes image smooth, image binarization, morphological filter and image edge detection, is designed. According to the studying object, when processing gray image, the median filter is chosen, after image binarization, the morphological filter is chosen. The iteration method is adopted in order to obtain the accurate threshold. When detecting image edge, the neighborhood method is selected for the higher running speed.The boundary tracking and image vectorization are studied, the interface of DXF file also has been designed. First, system does boundary tracking with the method of Freeman chain code; Second, it does fitting with the method of multiline ; Finally, system saves the result as DXF file. The paper also gives the methods of reading and creating DXF files.The automatic programming system of NC cutting plotter based on digital image has been developed, the image processing. And moreover, NC code generating, cutting emulation and file translation have been designed.
