Phase equilibria in the Gd-Sb-Ti ternary system at 500℃have been studied mainly by means of X-ray powder diffraction (powder XRD), with the aid of differential thermal analysis (DTA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive analysis. The existence of 9 binary compounds and none temary compound was confirmed: Gd5Sb3, Gd4Sb3, GdSb, Sb2Ti, SbTi, Sb5Ti6,Sb3Ti5, Sb2Ti5, SbTi3; The compounds Gd16Sb39, SbTi4 were not observed in binary or ternary alloys at 500℃. This isothermal section consists of 12 single-phase regions, 21two-phase regions and 10 three-phase regions.12 single-phase regions are:α(Gd),β(Gd5Sb3),γ(Gd4Sb3),δ(GdSb),ε(Sb),ζ(Sb2Ti),η(SbTi),θ(Sb5Ti6),ι(Sb3Ti5),κ(Sb2Ti5),λ(SbTi3),μ(Ti)。21 two-phase regions are:α+β,β+γ,γ+δ,δ+ε,ε+ζ,ζ+η,η+θ,θ+ι,ι+κ,κ+λ,λ+μ,μ+β,μ+γ,μ+δ,δ+ζ,δ+η,δ+θ,δ+ι,δ+κ,δ+ε,δ+μ。10 three-phase regions are:α+β+γ,β+γ+μ,γ+δ+μ,δ+λ+μ,δ+κ+λ,δ+ι+κ,δ+θ+ι,δ+η+θ,δ+ζη,δ+ε+ζ。...
