High water-absorbent resin was prepared by grafting AM and AMPS on cassava starch. The best reaction conditions was studied。The absorbencies of the high water-absorbent resin in various PH values of solutions, water at different temperature, various salt solutions, different organic solvents, aqueous ammonia, urea solutionsins, artificial blood and artificial urine were measured, and water–keeping property, repeat water adsorption property and swelling dynamics of the product were also studied. The structure and thermal stability of the product were characterized by FTIR and TG .Graft Polymerization was effected by the dosage and the kind of initiations, reaction temperature and time, ratio of monomers, the dosage of nitrate and so on,and the absorbency of the product was also effected by them. The optimum condition of preparation of high water-absorbent resin is listed as follow:the dosage of cassava starch is 5g,AM is 3g,AMPS is 7g and CAN is 0.3g,reaction temperature is 60℃,reaction time is 3h ,the volume of HNO3 is 3ml and the dosage of cross-linking agent is 0.0004g..The water- adsorbent resin is graft copolymer of AM,AMPS and cassava starch. The max water adsorption ratio is 689.66 g/g and the max 0.9% NaCl solution absorption ratio is 70.71 g/g.The high water-absorbent resin has a high adsorption capacity in the solution with a high concentration of acid or base..For price salt brine, the adsorption percentage of the resin and the concentration of sailt solution basically conform to the formula V = K×(1/ C)n.The absorbencies of the high water-absorbenct resin to some organic solvents ,including some pure alcohols.,iaqueous ammonia and urea solutionsins are very good .The swelling mechanism of the resin is non-Fickian swelling. The keeping–water property and thermal stability of t he resin are favorable。...
