Preparation of high water-absorbent material was carried out in aqueous solution with kdc persulfate (KPS) as initiatoi N, N?methylene biasactylamkie (MBAM) as crosslinking agent .The structure of the material was investigated by FT-IR, and the stabdity of grafting copolymer gel was directly studied by themial analyzer TGA.Regarding monomers conversion and water absorption capacity of this material, a study is made on such influencing factors as amount of initiator and crosslniking agent, reaction temperature and time, consumption and ratio of monomers, degree of neutralization, etc..The maximum absorption capacity appeared under th ndilion:0.3molfl.. of cassavastaith, 1 .5moVL acrylic acid,1 .0 moUL crylamkle,4.5 x 0~moI/L KPS,8.5 x 1 0~moULMBAM,reaction temperature 60 degree, monomers pre-~polymerization lh,grafting reaction 2h.Under above condition, the absorption amount of this matenal could be over 62OmVg and over7OmVg in case of water and 0.9% NaCI aqueous solution respectively.
