In this thesis, based on the urgent demand of important equipment in China, according to high technology and research outcome of the cutting-edge, we begin a research on five-axis CNC machining technology of free-form surfaces. This technology is to be applied to solve the problems in large-scale and thin-walled parts, which are usually used in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, shipbuilding and military industry, such as the complex structure of the parts, difficult-to-cutting material, nonlinear error in five-axis CNC machining and a series of specific problems in this field. In specific, this thesis focuses on the following problems:1. Based on large-scale and thin-walled part, such as integral impeller, turbine blade and screw propeller used in ship, the tool path of rough and finish machining are scheduled. In addition, based on characteristic of difficult-to-cutting material and configuration of five-axis machine tools, choosing the reasonable cutting parameter, tool path generation technique so as to gain the high accuracy and high efficiency in five-axis machining.2. Based on the characteristic of five-axis CNC machine tools'structure, do researches on post-process technique. By means of analysis of the kinetic model of five-axis CNC machine tools, developing NC postprocessor for five-axis milling machines.3. Analysis the principle of nonlinear error in five-axis machining, according to differential geometry theory, model the nonlinear error and establish the simplified model of nonlinear error and its control strategy.4. By means of embedding the algorithm of nonlinear error into post-processor, optimize the NC program and reduce the nonlinear error. The research outcomes have been applied successfully to the product---SE305M which is granted by Key program of Shanghai Science committee"Research and Application of low cost embedded Open structure motion controller".
