Based on the other researchers' study, according to the basic principleof metal plastic forming, using modern simulation technology of finiteelement combined with experiments, Cold Forging Steel ball billet as thestudy object, we have developed a new type of mould for global steel billetdie. Through the establishment of a simplified physical model, using thecommercial finite element software -SuperForm/superforge- as analyticaltool, we have simulated the metal deformation in the die cavity, findingthe rule of metal flow in the cavity Lane, forecasting blank steel ballunder the different cavity shapes and putting forward the correspondingbest scheme. Based on the theory of cold forging, we have established themathematical model for cold heading of blank steel ball. Throughexperiments, we have explored the best shape of the ball, and analyzed theimpact of cavity shape to steel ball in the process of cold forging. Allsystematic experiments are made on the self-designed test equipment, andnew blank steel ball are formed by cold forging. The study has laid thenecessary foundation for the industrial production in theory and practice.
