Since 1960s, the advanced composite, especially the advanced resin matrix composite, has been greatly developed in the world for its unique characteristic. And it has been one of the most important materials of modern aerospace industry. 2-D woven fabric composite is not only widely used in aerospace and aircraft industry, but also universally applied in people's lives,such as sports, health care, construction industrial etc, which bring the important engineering meaning in the research on this material mechanics.This paper is to develop methods to predict the elastic constants of 2-D satin woven fabric composite and do the vibration analysis.In this paper,the research work is mainly focused on the geometric and elastic models for the prediction of the elastic constants of 2-D satin woven fabric composite. By applying the orientation averaging model and finite element micromechanical model those elastic constants of woven fabric composite were predicted, then the plain woven fabric instances from the literature and the tension and shear experiment of the composite were employed to validate these models, some study work is carried out on the effect of fiber geometry on the elastic constants. The results showed that these models have universal and effective capability.The structural vibration analysis method is set up and by using the above achievement the natural frequencies and vibration modes are predicted by the means of experimental method and the method, which combines the software of ANSYS and the established finite element analysis model aiming to study the dynamic mechanical characteristics of the composite plate. Applying the material which is the independently made the experimental validation was taken using the single-in/single-out frequency and modal parameter recognition method. The comparison study revealed that the finite element analysis model can be used to do dynamic analysis of woven fabric composite.The study work provides powerful technique support for the design and manufacture of the composite and the foundation of the continuous research on the fatigue and strength was made.
