Moulds are high added-value technology-intensive products, and its technical level has become an important evaluation target for a country's manufacturing level. The development of our country's mould industry is fecing new opportunity and challenges after china's accession into WTO. It has become a critical topic to improve management level and competitiveness of our mould industry. By investigating and researching several mould manufacturers and analyzing correlative data, it has been found that production management is the management bottleneck. Mould production is engineering-to-order with resource-oriented and one-of-a-kind. For the customers' order is unpredictable and the manufacturing process of mould is not stable, throughput demand of mould enterprise is stochastic and uncertain. These lead that mould resources are usually configured badly unreasonable and its utilization ratio is low. Mould resource configuration is found to be the weakest link of mould manufacturing system. Unfortunately, mould resource configuration is very intractable for mould manufacturers.In this paper, resource configuration method and execution technology of mould manufacturing cell are presented with combining current new technology of software engineering. Firstly, manufacturing process of mould and resources configuration state of mould enterprises have been analyzed by investigating several mould manufacturers. Based on it, the design of mould cellular manufacturing system has been discussed. Performance indexes are built up to cluster the moulds. For establishing typical paradigms of mould, a correlative algorithm is used in this paper. In order to optimize the configuration of resource, a special algorithm of resource configuration is developed. After that, corresponding strategys are presented to optimize the configuration of resource in static and dynamic ways. In view of the characteristics of multi-process routes, a correlative algorithm is put forward to solve the burthen equilibrium problem of mould manufacturing cell and make the most use of mould resource. The algorithm is based upon the assistant decision mathematic model of resource selection problemBased on all the above-mentioned theories, methods and results, a resource configuration original system of mould manufacturing cell has been analyzed, developed and demonstrated in the last chapter of this paper. The system is programmed in C# of.Net-Platform. The simulated result indicates that the system is significant in helping mould manufacturers optimizing resource configuration of mould manufacturing cell. This dissertation has provided a new way for manufacturing resource manage of mould enterprise.
