Impact Analysis Of Urbanization Process On The Urban Eco-environment

Rapid urbanization can be observed in China. As urbanization develops, urban population dilates promptly and urban land expands rapidly. Such rapid expansion of cities and increasing population are posing formidable challenges to the eco-environment. For instance, urban environmental issues become increasingly important in the cities of developing country, especially in China. Some problems that will impede urban development emerge one another. In the course of practicing urban sustainable development, the urban environmental problems became critical. So, the environmental impact of urbanization attracted attention from all people. The synthetical environmental impact assessment of urbanization becomes one of the experts' research fields. It is crucial to recognize the dynamic coupling law between urbanization and eco-environment, and adopt the proper mode to realize the sustainable development of the urbanization.Urbanization, eco-environment and their relations are expounded in this thesis, the state of urbanization problem is reviewed thoroughly and problems and shortages are also analyzed. Based on analyzing the influence mechanism between urbanization and urban eco-environment, the interactive coercing and dynamic evolving relation between urbanization and eco-environment are discussed. Urbanization development on several levels, such as the concentration of urban population, the expansion of urban area and the increasing of energy consumption by concentration of industry leaded to urban environmental deterioration. And this kind of change would destroy the urban ecosystem; meanwhile, the negative ecological effect to urban development would come along. The process of urbanization has influence on eco-environment of urban area, and vice versa; any level of urbanization development is restricted by eco-environment.Then, we take the regions of Changsha as a research case. The environmental effects of the process of the demographic urbanization which is expressed by urban land use and land cover change is explored. We investigated how these changes alter atmospheric enviroment, water environment and soil environment. We critically review the concept of Compact City; the urban construction pattern has more influence to the urban environment quality. We discuss the benefits and harms of Compact City and explore how to ensure the environment quality under the Compact City construction.Finally, we take the regions of Changsha as a research case. The environment problems are more and more prominent with the urbanization development in Changsha. The urbanization process influences the atmospheric temperature, which brings the urban warming, urban heat island and air pollution. Further, a set of urban climate and eco-environment indices is set up in term of sustainable development. The aim of the study on the influence of urbanization process on the urban air environment of Changsha is to find the mechanism and factors of this influence. We make the study from qualitative to quantitative aspects to provide some scientific bases for the urban environment protection of Changsha.
