Virtual Reality (VR) emerged following the interdisciplinary development of computer graphics, computer simulation,human-machine interface technology,multimedia technology and sensor technology. From 1990's, VR has been an integrity system and more and more people pay attention to it. It sprung up rapidly and now is widely used in many fields.The establishment of virtual environment is a key point of VR technology, applying dynamic environment modeling technology can acquire 3D data, consequently, we can get virtual environment's model. This paper aims at 3D modeling in VR, the main contents of our research are as follows:Firstly, VR technology is deeply discussed, then analyzes 3D modeling method in VR, compares several VR exploiture tools and selects VRML as 3D modeling tool.Secondly, concept of VRML, a 3D modeling language which is applicable to Internet is introduced; several key techniques are studied; suitable VRML browser and editor are selected; then 3D model are constructed by programming.Thirdly, two kinds of light circuitry structure in FTP, which are intersect and parallel, are described, the basic theories of FTP according to the intersect light circuit are introduced, fromwhich the relationship between the phase and the depth is derived by formulas, at last the measured results are presented.Fourthly, phase unwrapping is discussed, the causation of wrapped phase is analyzed, process of phase unwrapping is described, then a new region-growing algorithm based on predictions and guided by the reliability is described, the result shows the algorithm is feasible.Fifthly, the process of 3-D discrete datum and the visualization technique are discussed, the method of cloud point data process is probed, and 3-D shape integration is introduced.Finally, the paper summarizes the past research and prospects the future work for the further study of the project.
