Mining accident means the accident that happens in mining period, which always brings heavy wound or death. There are at least several thousands of mining accidents in the world every year. The usual mining accidents include: Gas Explosion, Coal-dust Explosion, Gas Outburst, Mine Flood, Fire Accident in Mining Well, Breaking of Above Rock-layer and so on. In 2003, there were 35% coal of the world in China, while there were 80% death of the world at the same time in mining accidents. China is a big coal-producing country, which depends on coal resource badly, but meanwhile a frequent mining accident country. For example, the Mine Flood accident of Wang Jia Ling in 2009,and another Gas Explosion accident of Liu Pan Shui in 2011. There were some causes of bad supervision of supervisers and supervision measure. In 2010, National Security Administration spent strength carrying out strict supervision rules: in the next two years, the supervisers that want to continue the mining administration must participate in security training and pass the relative test. And the operation of VRML is directly connected with declining the wound and dead. So the research and design on VRML is necessary and significant in theory or practice.In exploration of this VRML, I do the following works: (1) Modeling of living area, working area and working plane of mining area using 3DSMAX. (2) Optimizing complicated 3D model using maps and LOD. (3) Processing data with the VIRTOOLS, Setting Model Property, Physical Collision and so on. (4) Proposing the principle of random, giving function model and its realizing method in detail. The main chapters of this thesis are as following:In the first chapter, I introduce the state of Virtual-reality-based VRML at present in China and its background in China and abroad. Then I raise the significance of this system in teaching.In the second chapter, I study Virtual Lab's advantages and its problems, and the imperfections of traditional teaching method. Then, I study the using of Virtual-reality in practices. At the end, I introduce features of desktop-based teaching system of VRML and relevant exploration of Virtual-reality-based VRML.In the third chapter, I introduce the choice of exploring software and functional design, especially the necessity of exploring this system.In the fourth chapter, I introduce the steps of setting model of figure and scene, and its realizing method, which include maps, LOD and how to connect them in VT.In the fifth and sixth chapter, I conclude the achievement of this system and its weak points, and then do prospect of this system.
