With the development of the digitalization design and manufacturing for automobile product, it is becoming the bottleneck in online inspection for automotive sheet covering. The traditional inspection tools, such as micrometer, vernier caliper, check board and sample piece for check, are fallibility in the inspecting results, low efficiency, and no trace for the quality and unable to integrate in digitalization. The principle of the optical scanning stamping parts on-line inspecting instrument researching in this academic thesis bases on points cloud 3D alignment in Reverse Engineering. This paper brings forwards a virtual simulation & design method on integrated soft wares with UGNX, 3Dmax and Eon Reality for the inspection facility.From the beginning of the requirements of the stamping parts on-line inspecting, this paper expatiates the principle of the optical scanning stamping parts on-line inspecting instrument, in which optical probe acquire the data cloud of panel parts swift and accurately, and point cloud data is merged by special software, them it's aligned with CAD modeling of digital part, overall qualities are. displayed by colorized error graph and reports directly. The overall hardware functions and software functions are accomplished based on the former principle; accordingly, the designs on hardware system and software system of the equipment, including relative technologies are illuminated in two chapters in detail.(1) The design of hardware system. The inspection equipment mainly consists of sliding framework, sliding closure, gantry frame (removable bridge) and worktable. After analyzing these structures, this dissertation illuminates the designs or choices of the main parts; it also analyzes the key parts by theory methods.(2) The design of software system. The efficiency and accuracy of the equipment depend on mechanical structure, control system, and probe, while the functions depend on software and probe, and the facility is connected with the software closely. The dissertation has accomplished the requirement description and the overall design of the software system based on the inspection process, and the key technologies of Software development have also been illuminated in the paper.At last, this paper introduces the realization process and relative technologies of virtual design on the inspecting instrument based on optical scanning, including geometric modeling, behavioral modeling and the distribution of design works.
